Acrisp, fruity wine, a cuvée of two of the most characteristic grape varieties of the D.O.C. zone: montepulciano contributes the velvety smoothness of the wine and its easy drinkability, while the nero di Troia provides body and structure.

GROWING AREA
Commune of Andria, in the "Castel del Monte" D.O.C. area.
GRAPE VARIETIES
70% Montepulciano, 30% Nero di Troia.
VINEYARDS
Partly trained to spurred cordon and part to pergola in deep, tufaceous soils, with yields averaging 120 q/h.
VINIFICATION
The grapes are picked between the last week of September and the first week in October. After a 6-7 day maceration in steel, the juice is separated from the skins and the fermentation continues for 5-6 days in fibreglass-lined vats.
MATURATION
9-10 months in fibreglass-lined vats, when malolactic fermentation takes place.
MATURATION
Alcohol 12.5%; total acidity 5.30 g/l; pH 3.40; residual sugar 1.8 g/l; total S02 80 mg/l.
TASTING NOTES
Purple-tinged ruby red in colour; youthful, heady aromas of ripe red fruit; soft and full-fruited in the mouth, well-balanced and judiciously tannic.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Hearty soups, pastas with full-flavoured sauces, roast poultry and veal, semi-piquant cheeses. Serve at 16-18 °C.
STORING
Stored correctly, this wine will continue to mature in the bottle for 3-4 years.
