In August 31st #226 issue Monica Larner surveys and reviews Apulian wines giving several Rivera wines the top scores in each category. 

Il Falcone 2010 with 93 pts is confirmed as one of very the top Apulian red wines, while 90 pts Preludio N°1 impresses Monica Larner for its "huge jump forward in quality". New vintages of Cappellaccio 2010 (91+ pts), Violante 2013 (89 pts) and Rupìcolo 2014 (88+ pts) rank above the average and emerge for their great value .

Rivera is one of the most important wineries in Puglia in terms of image and quality. I was able to taste through two vintages of recent releases and was delighted by the two top-shelf wines (the Puer Apuliae and Il Falcone Riserva) from the 2009 vintage. To my palate, these are two of the finest wines ever made by Rivera. Rivera has overwhelmingly mastered the difficult art of making great wine from the finicky Nero di Troia variety. Because of its thin skin, the grape often suffers from mold and downey mildew. But Rivera has gained experience over the years to lessen the impact of these issues.

IL FALCONE has been one of the highlights the of past week’s of Master Chef Italia semifinal on air on Sky channels.

The de Corato family has acquired from Gancia 50% of the shareholder equity, becoming once again sole owner of this historic Puglia brand.
