In the early morning of 12 August, the 60^th vintage of Rivera winery has begun with the picking of Chardonnay and Sauvignon grapes.

The months that preceded and that brought to the development of the vines and to the ripening of the grapes have been a positive prelude to what announces to be a great vintage: May and June have been relatively cool and rainy, while July and August sunny, dry and never too hot.

Winemaking will carefully aim to exploit the great quality fo the grapes.

As per tradition as a founding member of Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia (Apulian Wine Tourism Association), Rivera will open the doors of its cellar with guided tours and tastings to the visitors that will participate to Cantine Aperte day on Sunday 30th May. On the green just outside the winery a traditional food fair will be organized. For further informations, www.mtvpuglia.it

During the first week of May Rivera will be touring Canada with an intense programme of seminars and tastings:

Toronto         - Monday 3rd May: Istituto Grandi Marchi walk around tasting at Le Meridien King Edward Hotel (14-21)

Vancouver    -  Wednesday 5th May: Seminar and tastingat Cibo Trattoria (12-16)

Calgary              - Thursday 6th May: Istituto Grandi Marchi Walk around tasting at The Fairmont Palliser Hotel (12-17) and Wine Festival at Willow Wines & Spirits (18-21)

Within the promotional programme organized for its members by Istituto Grandi Marchi, Rivera has participated with its wines to the tastings and events that have been held in Munich on September 16th in the prestigious headquarters of Hypovereinsbank in the city centre.

On n. 182 issue of April 2009 the influential Robert Parker’s “The Wine Advocate” magazine, Rivera wines have literally “thrilled” the author gathering very high ratings (Il Falcone 2004: 93 pts; Cappellaccio 2004: 92 pts; Puer Apuliae 2005: 90 pts).

Within the promotional programme organized for its members by Istituto Grandi Marchi, Rivera has participated with its wines to the tastings and events that have been held in Montreal (26^th-28^th February) at Hilton Bonaventure Hotel and in Vancouver (2^nd March) at the Terminal City Club. During the charity auctions at the end of the splendid gala dinners that closed the events, a 3 liters bottle of Il Falcone 2004 has been sold at the price of CAD 1.100 (€ 690) in Montreal and CAD 1.200 (€ 750) in Vancouver.
